Preaching Christ… Making Disciples… Releasing Ministry…

Keep your heart

It was a great day today at BCF. There was a relaxed fun atmosphere there as everybody gathered together. Again we had an excellent time of worship as God took us all to the next level in our worship.

We heard from Mike Tyrell today who brought us an excellent message. The key to the existence of our church, the key to bringing revival and transformation, is us. Our faith is not the problem though. To exercise faith, you need to make a choice. Human frality, lack of knowledge, lack of application and allowing the enemy to come in can all hinder or destroy us. In Hosea 4:6 and Isaiah 5:13, it says that “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. Or, you may have knowledge, but do nothing with it. Our one weapon we have is faith. With our faith we can quench the firey darts of the enemy.
We can and will, set the foundation and the next chapter for our church. We need to believe for things out of nothing. God created things out of nothing and we’re created in His image.

Prov 4:23 says to keep your heart. Don’t keep your soul or body, it’s your heart you need to keep. You can’t bring any legislation to legislate the heart. No matter what laws we make, we will break them. You are responsible for your own heart. The heart is the real us. Mark 6:15-23 - What comes out is what comes out from the heart. The world needs people who come alive. Don’t fill a need, come alive and do what’s in your heart. If you are doing something else, you become angry and frustrated. Your priority is to keep - (meaning protect and release) your heart.

Breakthrough into what you are called to. If God has placed himself in you, He won’t hold back. Your heart is the most important thing, watch over it.

Running with the horses

We had another really great time of worship on Sunday as we lifted our praise to God and He poured out His presence.
Wearne gave us a good communion message about staying soft and pliable in His hands, just as Jesus did.

Chris Kolle then brought a great message from Jer 12:5, running with the horses. God speaks to Jeremiah and tells him that if he can’t cut it with men, how is he going to cut it in the big time? The thickets of Jordan have lions and other big animals in them, it is tough country. This is the country that Jeremiah needs to be able to run in, but first he needs to get through the smooth country.

God wants us to keep running. He wants us to be more than conquerors (Rom 8:37), to come through it more than just surviving.
Isaiah 40:28-31. We all get tired. We all go through tough times and get weary. God wants us to guard against the weariness of our soul. Look at yourself and ask how you’re running. Sometimes we can look at the “wicked” and wonder how come they’re being blessed. They’re the times that we want to give up (Prov 10:24, Lam 5:5).

But, we need to give in to God, not give up. When you get to the point where you give in, God can do a miracle in your life.

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength” - Isaiah 40:31. God wants us to go higher, to keep running. Things may hit us, but we need to keep going, not let circumstances get to us.

How to keep running.

      1. Face your problems head on. Rom 4:19. He faced reality, but his faith didn’t falter. Trust God through it. Yield to Him. David faced Goliath head on.
      2. Avoid sin and compromise. Jer 9:5, Amos 6:12
      3. Focus on the Lord. Isaiah 40:31. Face the problem, but don’t focus on it. Heb 12:3 - consider the Lord so that you don’t lose heart.
      4. Saturate yourself in the Word of God. Make the word live inside yourself. It needs to be inside, then come out. Don’t listen to the devil. Cut him off, don’t let him cut you off.

We have total victory over the devil. Discouragement and division are marks of the devil. Don’t allow discouragement to come into your heart.

      5. Refresh others. Prov 11:25. Sit down and listen to them, talk to them.
      6. Don’t be a nag! Jud 16:16. Don’t talk negatively or listen to negative talk. Don’t speak death, because that is what will happen.

Come to Him and He will give you rest Mat 11:28. He wants us to run, he wants us to run with the horses, to do the greater things.

Today was a pivotal day for those who were there. Grab hold of the message today and apply it to your life. Have a great week and be a blessing!

Looking ahead

Today we heard from Rob Bailey who talked about forgiveness and letting go. Jesus has completely removed our sins and we are called to be like Jesus and just as Jesus did, we need to forgive other people.

We make a choice to forgive and when arguments rise up against us, especially in our thought process, we need to pull them down (2 Cor 10:4-6). We need to punish them as they exalt themselves against God.

Curses can no longer come upon us now that we are under the new covenant. In Gal 3:13 we read that Jesus took all the curses so that we can have the blessings of Abraham.

When all those things come into your head, remember that you have chosen to forgive. You may not feel like you have forgiven, but that is the enemy coming in and it doesn’t matter what your feelings and emotions say, you have made a choice to forgive and follow Jesus. In Phil 3:13-14 it is says to forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead. Jesus has forgiven everything we have done (1 John 2:2). Love your enemies, including those who have said negative things about you (Mat 5:44-45).

As we come into a new year, look ahead to what God is going to do. Look with expectancy and eyes of faith as we move forward into what God is going to do! Have a great week and remember it is a blessing to be a blessing!

Another great day

Again we had another great day at BCF. We saw one person accept Jesus as their saviour and the worship we had touched something in the heavenlies and God poured out His presence.

Tony Rawson then brought us an encouraging message. We know the story of when David went out to battle and came back and found the enemy had destroyed his city. David then encouraged himself. David actually wrote the Psalms, so to encourage himself after this, he probably wrote another Psalm. What a great encouragement Psalm 18 is. We are told to speak to others (and ourselves) with Psalms and spiritual songs.

In 1 Thes 5:23 we are told that we are a trinity, made up of spirit, soul and body. We have an inward man which is a spirit man. 1 Cor 1:18 tells us that our soul is “being saved”. Our inside, or spirit man, is born of God. It is perfect when we are saved.

In Eph 1:1-3, we are told that we are blessed with every spiritual blessing. Blessed = eulogia in greek. That means to speak well of. God speaks well of us. We need to speak well of each other as well. In Eph 1:4-5 we are told that we are adopted and chosen.

As we know who we are in Christ, we can build ourselves up that way. God, the one who knows us, made us, speaks well of us and adopted and chose us, loves us the most. Dwell on that and encourage yourself with that. Allow yourself to be built up with truths from God’s word.

Have a great week.
